Our hair is like a beautiful crown when it’s in good condition, and there are many simple things you can do each day to keep yours looking at its glossy best. However, as natural hair can be dry and more brittle than other types it can be prone to getting stressed and often requires a boost. One of the things that can really help is using essential oils. I’m going to tell you which of these oils promotes growth and keeps hair in good health. I’m also going to show you how to get shiny hair in different ways, so let’s get started.

  • Avocado oil

Avocado is rich in a number of vitamins, minerals and nutrients that’ll allow natural hair to flourish. It’s loaded with protein, fatty acids and amino acids, which means that it’s great for protecting hair strands from damage and preventing frizz. It can also play a major role in treating an itchy scalp and restoring the natural shine in your hair. If you need to know more on how to get shiny hair, you’ll find more tips here.

  • Jojoba oil

Dry and brittle hair can be a real problem, but so too can dry scalp and dandruff. Jojoba oil helps tackle that flaky scalp and it’s also really good at preventing split ends by mimicking the production of sebum. Sebum is vital for keeping the scalp and hair moist, so mixing in a little jojoba oil with a deep conditioner is definitely going to help.

  • Peppermint oil

This is one of the best essential oils for stimulating growth, amongst it’s other healthy attributes. Dilute a few drops in a carrier like olive oil and massage into the scalp. By doing so peppermint oil increases blood circulation and oxygen supply to the hair roots, which in turn promotes that growth we’re all after.

  • Rosemary oil

As with peppermint oil, rosemary oil stimulates blood flow to the hair follicles and increases the rate of hair growth. It also contains antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, which means it’s really good at fighting dandruff and supporting the overall health of your scalp too.

  • Coconut oil

Coconut oil contains a combination of high amounts of vitamin E and monounsaturated fats, both of which can play their part in sealing in moisture and preventing your hair breaking. Not only that, coconut oil is loaded with protein so if you are suffering with breakage it can support regrowth really well.

As you can see, essential oils can play a huge role in supporting growth and the overall health of your hair. Give them a go and you’ll soon see the benefits.
